Parents' Responsibility

Carter's Gymnastics Academy
TEAM MISSION STATEMENT

To develop and run a world class training program to continuously produce local, state, regional, national, and international Elite level competitors and champions.

Our mission is to develop a positive attitude toward learning gymnastics, to prepare for life and to provide an opportunity for gymnasts to reach their maximum potential, whatever that may be.

In order for the gymnasts to reach their goals we need you to be there for your gymnast.
A parent’s job is to share your gymnast’s successes and provide moral support for any difficulties.

Never let your gymnast hear you talk negatively about their coaches or another gymnast.

Support the coaches.

Positive parents will have positive gymnasts.

If you have a problem please fill out a comment/suggestion sheet at the office, on the website or talk to your coach or the gm owner.

Do not coach your gymnast any time during practice, or after practice - that is what we have coaches for.

Cheer, don’t yell.  Be positive, not negative. Screaming at your gymnast from the sidelines confuses and embarrasses them.

Do notice what your gymnast does best, and compliment them.  Catch them doing something right.

Stay behind the roped off area.

Be there for your gymnast’s support. Listen to them; help them understand you are proud of them, even if they have had a bad day.

Don’t attach love to winning. Love your gymnast just the same, win or lose, and make sure they understand you do.

Help your gymnast achieve their goals.

Get your gymnast to practice on time.

Assist your gymnast in all team obligations. This includes taking your child to practices, competitions and fundraising.

Let's work together and make this the best program possible for the gymnasts.
